And welcome to my Countdown to Christmas Series. I absolutely love the Christmas Season! I have been patiently waiting for December to finally arrive to begin decorating the house as well as to listen to Christmas music. Although I do occasionally play a Christmas track in July. Since I do live in a place where it can be 80 degrees on Christmas day I tend to go overboard in the decorations to get into the Christmas Spirit.
Year after year the first thing that occurs is the setting up of the Christmas Tree. To not overwhelm myself during this process I take this step once at a time. I do have an artificial tree so the setting up of the tree might take a while depending on the size of each branch . After that, the lights come in and those can be bothersome to depending on how many bulbs are damaged from the previous year. It is also hard because sometimes the replacement bulbs can be lost by a certain individual who tosses the lights into a separate bag in a heap instead of being careful. The lesson of the story here is to learn from my mistake and carefully place the lights into their storage compartment.
Ornaments are my favorite part as you can see in my household we have a selection of ornaments that are special to us doing to being handmade ones or ones that have extra meaning to us. This year a few of them directly reflect goals that I have for 2017. I will be posting my 2017 Resolutions on December 31 so stay tuned for that.
Most of these pieces are all passed down so they are extra special due to them having traveling with us from Mexico to the US multiple times depending on where we are for Christmas that year. While we do have a lot of decorations I love to truly space them out and not have them all clustered around each other.
And of course, my bedroom does not escape from my Christmas decorating spirit. Christmas Lights around the window are an essential all year round in my opinion but they are especially necessary during December. Due to me being in finals currently, I spread Christmas cheer to myself by drinking from my favorite reindeer mug and having my dancing reindeer on as I more than likely do an all nighter before each day’s final exam.
Sending you much love,
